You know how you feel when three o’clock in the afternoon rolls around? Lunch has been over and dinner is on its way soon, but you just need something tasty to perk you and your taste buds up so you can carry on the rest of the day free from feeling blah and even a little hungry around this time.

It is a feeling that pretty much everyone in the world gets, except for people who can control their appetites with simple mind tricks and do not need coffee or treats to make the day go by. Those people have got mad willpower, but I am definitely not one of those kinds of folks.

I need my three PM tasty time otherwise I will not be able to function properly for the work day or on the ride home, which is bad news for fellow drivers out there. Once I get home I will simply crash on the couch and not be able to do anything for the remainder of the night.

How do you prepare for this daily three PM tasty time, though? Obviously you need some help THE INTERNET-Net-Net-Net!!!

The reason that I love the internet so very much is because I can find the best recipes for some of the tastiest treats imaginable. These treats make three o’clock a happy and joyous time for me. What’s on the menu for today you ask? Let’s have a look…

If you sit down and think about the internet, you will likely think of all of the ways that it has impacted and influenced your life. It is very true that many a people have been influenced by the internet. I mean it is difficult for me to remember the days before the internet and email and being able to work from home. I know it might be easier for some people to recall, but for me it is not something I can quickly remember.

The internet has not just affected individuals though. Oh no, the internet has changed almost all of the ways people and places do things. Businesses use the internet to do all sorts of things, and then you have the medical field and pretty much every other field out there utilizing the internet for daily use. It is crazy to think about how far we have come thanks to this wonderful tool.

Even Universities and schools have changed due to the internet. It’s not just the students, studying, and researching that the internet has touched. Curriculum and courses have even been changed or created just to keep up with this information age that we are currently in thanks to the internet. Take a look below to see what I mean.

Ever wondered just what it would be like to walk in the shoes of one of America’s top-notch tech CEOs for a day? What would it be like, for instance, to wake up and be Steve Ballmer? Or what about Mark Zuckerberg? Think it’s a sweet life? You’re probably right about that, and we won’t pretend you’re not — but there are some interesting similarities between the CEOs of the top 500 companies in America, despite all their eccentricities and differences. If you’re wondering whether certain common traits might mean you’re eligible to become one of the world’s top future CEOs, read on.

There are, apparently, some striking ways in which the most powerful CEOs in America carry out their average working days. For one thing, most of them wake up bright and early in the morning — at 6:15 am! Now, that’s early. Only teachers and day care workers get up earlier than that. If you’re curious, you might check out Bloomberg Television or catch up on the Wall Street Journal. Also, check out the infographic below to see how many hours these CEOs put in a day, and all of this before an average 10:30 pm bedtime!

Tablets are hot. Smokin’ hot. Since the first iPad made its way into the eager hands of pre-order crowds in April of 2010, a slew of tablets from competitors. Failed tablets of past have included attempts to bring the bloated Windows OS to tablet form, all to greatly disappointing results. After the iPad, people started getting the idea that a mobile OS is more suited to a tablet, so the successful iPad competition has come from devices that could run Google’s Android OS. Until now.

Recently, Amazon.com shook things up considerably by revamping its entire line of Kindle family products and introducing its tablet, the Kindle Fire. No matter which tablet a person owns, he or she will want to be sure that they have adt security to help secure their homes against crimes, but the Kindle Fire sure makes it easier. At only $199, it is $300 less than the entry level iPad. That’s pretty much a steal for something that will do double duty as an ebook reader and full fledged tablet. Let’s have a closer look at the things besides price that set the Kindle Fire apart from the iPad:

Internet speeds vary wildly from one location to the next, and well all know that, especially if the connections are wireless data networks through our mobile carriers. Still, it might surprise you to see the average Internet speeds in various countries around the world. Who do you suppose has the fastest connections? Japan? The UK? The good ole’ USA? If that’s what you’re thinking, you may need to think again. What you’re about to see is guaranteed to surprise you.

My beef with this is that we in America are supposedly The World Leader, and therefore we should have the best infrastructure, including all things digital, right? Well, not so fast! According to this info graphic, America the Beautiful is really America the Pitiful when it comes to Internet speeds. Could it have something to do with too much big government butting in and imposing strangling regulations on our Internet service providers? Could that also be what’s wrong with cable and satellite services and everything else that’s a little too stuck in the red tape around here? You be the judge. (Click to expand the graphic!)

Google yesterday reported that its web based email service, Gmail, was hacked in what it calls a “very sophisticated” attack. The personal email accounts of several hundred people, including senior US government officials, political activists in China, and officials from elsewhere in Asia. Miliary personnel, journalists, and seemingly random people were also targeted.

The way this attack worked was, the hacker would use a phishing scam to trick users into giving away their login information. A phishing attack often first appears as an email message from someone official (for instance, from Gmail itself) asking a user to sign back in or re validate their credentials in some way. It can also be a link that, once clicked, unleashes a virus on the computer. Once the user enters his or her username and password as the message prompts, that information is sent to the hacker in China, who can then login to the user’s email account, read and monitor all message, change settings for email signatures and rules, and even set up forwarding copies of emails to addresses specified by the hacker.

In worst case scenarios, hackers with this power over email accounts can extract sensitive personal data from the victim of the attack, such as bank account information, credit card numbers, and the personal information of others in their contact lists. Armed with credit card information, a hacker can then sell the information or use it him- or herself to make purchases in the name of the person whose details were stolen.

Other bad scenarios involve matters of homeland security, since top military and government officials from the United States were hacked. This begs the question, however: why on earth are senior US officials allowed to use Gmail in the first place? Shouldn’t they be using highly secure government mail run by the White House instead? cableinternetbundles.com

Granted, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said today that the accounts compromised were the personal email accounts of senior government officials — not their government accounts. I suppose in a land of freedom and democracy, top ranking government officials have a right to free, personal email with lots of storage just like the rest of us. And hopefully, those people didn’t use a lot of personally identifying information while logged in to their Gmail accounts anyway. Take Hillary, for example: surely she wouldn’t login as hclinton52@gmail.com and conduct sensitive government business via Google mail. At least, we hope not. What we hope is that the extent of her dealings with Gmail involves having a disposable address to use for signing up for Groupon.com or just staying in touch with old high school pals she doesn’t really talk to often anyway.

Nothing to write home to China about.

So, how do you protect yourself from an attempted phishing scam in Gmail?

First, make sure you change your settings to only use a secure login. To do this, go to Settings/General, and click the circle beside “Always Use https.”

If you receive an email message containing a link that asks you to verify any login information, do not click the link. Gmail would never send you email messages asking for your username and password.

Also, if a link of any sort comes from anyone you do not personally know, delete the message and do not click the link.

That should help lock things down. You can also periodically check your Gmail account activity by logging into Gmail from your Browser and scrolling all the way down to the bottom of the page. There you will find the words “last account activity” followed by a length of time, and an IP address. Then you will see a link to “details.” By clicking on this, you will have options to log out of any and all other sessions, view IP addresses that have logged on, and change settings for receiving alerts in case of suspicious activity.

That’s how to lock it down, y’all.

Green smoothies are everywhere this spring: you can find them in the malls, at kiosks and shopping centers, and even some of the more health-minded restaurants. If you read the popular health or women’s magazines, you’ll be hard pressed to find a recent edition without some sort of green smoothie recipe between its glossy covers. For those of us who may have been hiding under a rock and didn’t get the memo, a green smoothie is a blended, healthy drink — actually, a simple raw food, made with both greens and fruit.

People often don’t realize how easy it is to make their own green smoothies at home, using ingredients fresh from their own gardens — or choosing their favorites from the local farmer’s market or grocery store. Some popular greens to include are spinach, parsley, kale, arugula, dandelion, carrot and ginger, mint, chard, and even cilantro. Mixing a few kinds of green vegetables is perfectly ok, too. Just try to avoid mixing too many of the bitter flavored ones, unless you are using very sweet fruits or melons to mix with them.

The ratio of greens to fruit should be 1:1. That means the same amounts of fruit as of greens. So, if you use 20 ounces of spinach, you should also use 20 ounces of your favorite fruits and berries, and melons. Some great fruits for these smoothies would be mangoes, pears, peaches, watermelon, bananas, apples, grapes, strawberries, and blueberries. For emulsifying the mixture, something should be added during blending to give the smoothie its creamy texture. This can be achieved using ripened avocados, or milk or even cream.

Green smoothies are considered to be a raw food. Raw food diets, while not for everyone, can provide a host of health benefits that a diet of processed and cooked foods cannot match. Raw foods are believed to contain essential nutrients that, once cooked, are either transformed into less potent versions of themselves, or their benefits are obscured by the production of carcinogens and other impurities believed to be caused by the cooking process. Many people adopt an entire diet of raw foods, but this can be very inconvenient due to the pressures and demands of mainstream society. People may not feel they have the time or energy to put into studying up on raw diet, or to prepare meals suitable for this way of eating. Advocates suggest this is much easier than people make it out to be, but others maintain that it takes some work — at least if you plan on sticking with this diet for any length of time. If things get dull and boring too early on, the temptation to go back to cooked and processed foods it too great.

That’s where green smoothies come in. People say they are the ultimate raw food, and that there is so much variety that no one is likely to ever feel they are having the same old thing day after day. So try a green smoothie and see what raw really tastes like. It might not change your life, but at the very least, you’ll have a nutritious and delicious meal in only a few minutes.

A lot of products on the market have been developed with the idea from an existing product by finding a new cause for it. This is exactly how a thirteen year old boy named Hart Main got started with his up and running business. It’s truly an inspirational story, how this pre-teen decides to make a difference and develop something new because he’s never seen it or should I say smell it. Main wound up creating fun candles, that basically are ‘ManCans’ candles, with scents made specifically for men! To think men might not want to always smell fresh clean laundry or spring breeze, scents that women mostly seem to turn to. Men want to smell things they can relate to, scents that make them comfortable and thats exactly what this thirteen year old boy created, a candle for men an with their favorite scents! A man smell is like fresh cut grass, coffee, the scent of a new glove, not lilacs and breeze, or sunset orange with strawberry, soft blanket scents. Hart Main is doing quite well averaging around three hundred orders a week, he has a long time a head for him to decide what he wishes to do with his new interest. “It started as a joke” Main stated. Last year in 2010 Main’s little sister, twelve years old, Camryn, was selling candles for her school. Hart Main was not excited about the girls scents and joke around there should be candles for guys, guys whom don’t want their bedroom to smell like a lavender soap. The children’s mother, Amy, overheard the idea of her son and quickly encouraged him to try to make some candles with masculine scents. ” I do that with all of my kids – I listen to them,” Amy Main said. The children’s mom states that when she hears her children imply something they wish to do,”even if it sounds like they’re joking, if their idea sounds like something they can do, by all means, I tell them to go for it.” Which is also why, Camryn has a dog-walking business. For now the kids mom is carrying on work as a nursing administrator at an adult-education center, and their dad is an IT Manager. When Main’s invention hit the news stands, they were flooded with interviews and orders. The candles unique scents actually draw costumers in, the scents include thus far: New York Style Pizza, Grandpa’s pipe, Sawdust, Campfire, New Mitt, Fresh Cut Grass, Coffee and Bacon. Hart main is not only showing great work traits but at the same time he’s giving back to charity! Hart makes the candles in soup cans, so he purchases the soup and then donates it to the local soup kitchens. He then returns home with the empty cans and he and his mom make the scented candles in their home kitchen. The Main’s order oils from suppliers around Ohio, and combines with the wax to create his candles. Main has several growing ideas for his candle company, he plans to become an entrepreneur, he stated “I like the fact I have control over things and can make decisions and see what’s actually happening.” A friend of Hart’s mom stated, ” Hart is very much in charge of his business and is as hands on as any CEO would be at age fifty”, it’s truly amazing what children can accomplish with the help of their inspirational parents and the will to do well!

50 years ago, there was no internet. There was no color tv, and cell phones and digital cameras did not exist. Many refer to it as a simpler time. People say that times were different and they are completely correct. The internet has brought about not only technological change, but it has also brought about social change. People often are more social online nowadays than they are in person.

It is fair to say that social media has changed the way that we interact with people. With the technology available to us, we are able to talk to people without saying a word, and express emotion through typing, rather than speech.

Every single day, people spend hours and hours online, talking to friends, uploading photos, and telling people what they are doing. This has allowed people to stay connected like never before, because you can know what somebody is doing up to the minute, by reading their Twitter or Facebook status.

Out of all the social media websites available to us, Facebook and Twitter have been the most significant. Facebook has more users than any other website, and more people use Facebook than any other site on the internet. Facebook has attracted so much attention, because of its ease of use. It is almost self explanatory, and almost anyone can get on and use it without much instruction.

Facebook was one of the first social media websites to allow users to instant message. Although before Facebook there were instant messaging services like AIM, Facebook provided a much more organized instant messaging system, that revolutionized the social media game.

On Facebook, you are able to keep up to date with all of your friends interests, pictures, whereabouts, and much more. Facebook has been so successful because it allows users to do everything that they would need in a social media website, all at once.

Facebook has dominated the social media market for one reason. Word of mouth. Facebook is the most used site, because people pass Facebook onto their friends, and a chain is created. People use Facebook because they can be guaranteed that everyone they know will have a Facebook, and therefore they can stay connected with everybody.

Twitter is a lot different than Facebook. Twitter allows users to post 140 character status updates, and that is it. They can type whatever they want, but it has to be within the 140 character limit. This creates an interesting environment, because people are forced to condense what they want to say into 140 characters. This allows for more creativity in finding ways to portray your message in a small amount of time.

People are able to get across points quick and fast, and the entire world can see. This is an interesting feature, because people are able to see what their favorite celebrities are doing at any given moment, bridging the social gap between people and celebrities.

Overall, Facebook and Twitter are amazing revolutions on the internet.
